Metafy
Metafy is a place for those who take their game seriously. It's where competitive esports and trading card game communities learn from coaches, read guides, attend events, and connect.
As Design Lead, I owned both design and product. During our highest-growth period, I was the only designer, working alongside our founders, engineers, and freelance illustrators and animator.
My main focus was evolving Metafy from a single coaching product into a multipronged platform, building out memberships, guides, events, and shop as the business grew well beyond coaching alone. I'm proud to have left my fingerprints on every inch of the platform, from company-defining features to small improvements, contributing to an 89% increase in customer spend in 2025 and 79% year over year into August 2026.
Dashboard
Where creators build and manage their communities on Metafy. The dashboard grew alongside the platform, expanding as creators' offerings did, with tools like workflows and automations added along the way.
Guides
Written and video content created and sold entirely within Metafy. Guides started from zero and became Metafy's backbone, expanding beyond text to include notes, community discussion, reviews, deck lists, changelogs, and more.
Memberships
Introduced to give creators recurring revenue, memberships bundled benefits like free guides, discounted sessions, and exclusive events for a fixed monthly cost. Memberships often rivaled guides in performance.
Sessions
Where it all started. Sessions were Metafy's first product offering, allowing coaches and pros to sell their time to users looking to learn from the best.
Discovery
In its final and widely successful form, Discovery turned each product type into a leaderboard that updated daily. The number one spot in each product became a coveted, celebrated achievement.
My Stuff
Users needed a way to manage all their purchases, and not all users were the same. My Stuff introduced customizable navigation that grew alongside you, becoming one of the most positively received launches on the platform.
